The adjective 'Niggardly' literally means "stingy," or "miserly" has been misconstrued in many occasions in the United States. It has been phonically confused with the racial slur for African-American people. There have been many cases where the word was exposed to public. Here's one.
The David Howard incident David Howard was an aide to Anthony A. Williams, the black mayor of Washington D.C. While mentioning about the budget, Howard used the term 'niggardly' to describe it and one of Williams' black colleagues took offense of that. The incident resulted in Howard's resignation. However, after an internal review was brought on the table, Williams offered Howard to return to his position. Howard refused but accepted another position under Williams instead. Howard stated that he had learned something valuable from the incident and thought that would have been great if everyone was color-blinded for once.

Perfection in Education Part 2: What makes a "perfect" student?
A “perfect" student is not the one who always reads and does nothing except work all day long.
The biggest obligation of being a student is to know how to respect firstly your family, then your teachers, then your peers and finally your community.
A "perfect" student should get involved in many extra activities like playing sports and participating in social events such as community service.
As we were taught in health class, our total health includes mental balance, physical well-being and our social relationship with others. Having a good social relationship will help a student grow better. For instance, working with a group of peers gives the students the opportunity to explore and obtain a variety of ideas. Together as a group, students will produce their best work.
Perfection in Education Part 1: What makes a perfect teacher?
A “perfect teacher” will be one that cares about his or her students. That’s extremely important. It’s a qualification that probably not many teachers may possess. Yes, the teacher needs to have some professionalism in the first place. That is necessary as well and that's what makes a teacher a qualified educator.
However, I think it would be great and so much better if the teacher cared about the students, understood their approaches, and helped them as they needed.
A teacher should have a healthy and appropriate social relationship with his students. A teacher who paid any attention to his profession as an educator would be open to his or her students and listening to them as they presented themselves.
A “perfect teacher” represents determination to educate the young generation.
Lastly, a “perfect teacher” will be the one who takes his or her students as individuals and guide them to grow academically and socially.

My Roommate
Hello,
I was right five feet away from Jake when he was on the phone arguing with his mother. It's not like I was ear-dropping on his conversation with his mother. It's just I understand the situation he is compelled to be in and the complications between him and his parents. And sharing his story on my blog to hopefully gain some good advice for him is one of the ways to ease his situation.
As a roommate, I think I have some sort of obligation to accompany Jake whenever he's lost. This kid is a good kid. He's just really stupid sometimes. And he also acts on impulsively, which makes the problem even more complex. That is, he is quite a quiet kid. He does not talk much about his problem to anyone. Once in awhile he would mention his family matters, but mostly he just tries to laugh it off every time I ask him "How are you doing with you dad?"
Jake's relationship with his dad was never peaceful. He had told me once that by his junior year of highschool he already could not wait to get away from his family. There's always a fight in his home, mostly concerning financial issues. Jake is paying for half of his college tuition and he definitely does not appreciate the fact that his dad used his college money, the find that the family has been saving up, to buy a Porsche Cayenne. He used to tell me that at least at one point in his highschool career, he almost had no respect for his dad. I was trying to convince him that what he thought was wrong and he should never disrespect his father. I tried to ask him to at least consider the fact that he has a father. Without his father he would not have been here. Don't get me wrong. I also understand a father is obligated to raise his son as much as he is obligated to be, well, a father. No matter what Jake's father has done, he deserves at least the recognition of being a father.

Dom Mazzetti- this guy is potential laugh out loud
Hey everyone,
I just thought I should break the atmosphere by a comic post once in a while. Talking about rhetoric, this guy has too much to offer with his words.
Inappropriate Content Warning! Big Time! Sexism Alert! Ladies you can avoid this post
Okay the story is my frat brother showed me the video of this frat guy talking about his life philosophy of a typical frat, guido, Jersey-bound, frat male.
Above is probably one of his best works in my opinion. Please try to see the humor in this video if it's not already too obvious. I ought to write this because I'm insecure. Some people are too sensitive and often offended by mild stereotyping. This guy himself makes fun of his greek life so yeah get over it!

Superbowl Commericals: an All-American tradition?
Sure!
Every year millions heartthrob football fans look forward to the Superbowl not only because they want to see a match between two champions but also because of the creative yet sometimes shallow commercials aired during every timeout.

Commercials
Nowadays TV commercials are something TV watchers cannot avoid. Every show is periodically interrupted with some sort of advertisement. That's the way the television industry works because they need sponsorship from these companies.
The advertisement industry is part of the giant mass media influence. Since the past three centuries mass media has been more than just simply influential, it has been a core component of the culture-shaping regime in every country.
Advertisement plays a vital role, however. Advertisement is a profitable business that attracts many entrepreneurs. In this business, the keys to success are creativity and innovation. And the desired results are effectiveness and persuasion.
Advertisements have to be effective, that's the rule of thumb. Creators of advertisement will utilize every means and mechanism to make their commercial as effective as possible. We're not going to talk in details about the business between the product companies and the advertisement industry. Maybe on another post.
Notice that so far I have not mentioned any particular product or any specific advertisement company. The reason is I am trying to avoid free laboring for these companies. Note that this blog is a form of mass communication. It is exclusive, but still exemplary. So if I put the name of a product up here in this blog, I will be acting as a free agent for that particular company.
A lot of people are already free agents for large corporations such as facebook, Penn State University, and many more depending on the users' preferences. These data are collected by the social network and as the result the data is delivered to advertisement agents. Please do not think that pop-ups and online coupon offers are random. You have been selected as a potential costumer who shows interests in their product/service.
The last thing I'd like to discuss is that when you're involved in social networking, forget about that crap with privacy. Once you have marketed yourself up in the network, there is no such thing as privacy. Not to mention many people neglect to actually read the Terms & Conditions while registering for a network page. Many privacy-related issues are mentioned and explained thoroughly before they make you check that tiny box that says, "Check this box and there's no turning back to your private life. Thank you and we appreciate your business. Enjoy"
